In the age of fleeting trends, this home dares to drape itself with timelessness. A consuming beauty — think luxurious browns and beiges with regal hints of blues and gold. Blanketed across 8,000 sq ft, this home in New Delhi realised by Aashi Gupta Designs is an ode to French classicism reimagined for modern living.

The brief was beguilingly simple: to craft a home as enchanting as a Parisian hotel yet as warm as a retreat. “Since the house was built in the 19th century, we had to work with an old construction with thick beams and pillars at unusual spaces of the room,” explains Aashi.

Redefined luxury

A journey of calculated spatiality and grandeur. As you step through the French wooden doors, the family lounge unfurls — a warm embrace defined by oak floors, a grand fireplace and antique armchairs.

This space performs multiple roles, serving as both an intimate retreat and a convivial gathering point. Framed by lush greenery visible through tall windows, the room transitions into the dining area, where a majestic arch introduces walls adorned with rich Indian fabrics and a Persian rug anchoring the room.

Beyond, a sweeping oak staircase spirals upwards, connecting the ground floor. Each corner leads to intentional design moments, from guest rooms bathed in natural light and draped in sumptuous textiles, to a verdant lawn framed by a bespoke Roman fountain.

“My favourite corner of the house has to be the sun-drenched Parisian glasshouse — an oasis brimming with natural light, high ceiling, black and white checkered flooring and expansive windows with Georgian bars,” recalls Aashi.

Classic and timeless

A luxurious set of neutral hues, classical mouldings and ornate arches envelop the space. Contemporary furnishings in boucle and linen soften the home. Conscious strokes of soft marbles, brass and dark-hued wood with sleek metal and glass exude an old-world charm; both rooted and fresh.

Where every medium tells a story — of drama, luxury and balance, Aashi says, “This space is all about redefined sophistication, subtle luxury and a sense of timelessness.” Elegance and comfort find perfect balance here, proving that timeless design is anything but passé.
