Home furnishings brand Tulips is the newest entrant in New Delhi’s decor landscape. The leading brand has unveiled a sprawling outpost, segregated across two floors and a 5,000 sq ft area, in Defence Colony.
Bengaluru based firm 4 Dimensions has envisioned the store’s design, presentation and displays. The outlet is a vibrant hub of colours, crafts, and possibilities. Expressed in the language of traditional Indian textile, the space is replete with bolts of fabrics, surface ornamentation technique swatches, installations, artworks, objet d’arts, and haberdashery.
The creative team also imagined a discussion table right in the centre of the store to create an atelier-like atmosphere where the architects, clients and designers can come together to bounce ideas off of each other, hash out details, and co-create. The highlight of the store is sculptural embroidered artworks on cotton ducks that took 900 hours, 2000 metres of threads to create. Inspired by complex architectural motifs, these embroidered hoops evince rich and variegated stitchery techniques like hand embroidery, machine embroidery, appliqué, cutwork, and zardosi.
Inspirational installations like the Artisan scissors mural, miniature looms, antique luxury travel trunks and framed art pieces of crafts, chandeliers and props used in the store add drama to the brand story of heritage in craftsmanship. On offer are the latest collections by the brand along with several bespoke options for patrons to indulge in. The clear differentiator of Tulips is its commitment to providing design consultancy, crafting luxury soft furnishings coupled with turnkey.
