L-R: Trunks Company’s flagship boutique opens in Rambagh Palace; Pick from barware trunks to wardrobe trunks; Paritosh Mehta and Priyank Mehta have introduced a range of luxury trunks; They've also launched their travel collection of stylish briefcases and suitcase trunks.

Even though you’ve heard tell of the the old world charm of Jaipur’s Rambagh Palace, experiencing it up close and in the flesh defies expectations. Once you’ve been showered with rose petals, every other greeting seems somewhat unenthusiastic…

ELLE DECOR travelled to the Pink City for the opening of the Trunks Company’s flagship boutique, overlooking vintage cars and manicured lawns with peacocks, at the historic palace hotel.Gleaming metallic letters above the doors match the leather trunk displays, while inside, the brand’s signature colours of navy blue and coral invite you into a space filled with treasure trunks of velvet and leather craftsmanship. “Jaipur has always been at the heart of everything we’ve done,” says Paritosh Mehta, one of the partners of Trunks Company, who grew up in the Pink City, with his brother and co-founder Priyank Mehta. “It started as a love affair with Rajasthani crafts six years ago, and it has remained a luxury interpretation of our fascination with tradition,” he says, while pointing to the extravagant collection of barware trunks. The store featured their latest collection of colourful travel trunks, miniature jewellery boxes and clutches amongst trunks for watches, shoes and more. Check in your bags at the Rambagh Palace, but travel home with luggage from the Trunks Company.
