High vaulted ceilings, a warm woody palette and lush green vistas makes this comforting bedroom the perfect room to hole up and hide away.

Escape from the urban jungle and hole up in your natural cave. An all wood and stone Konkan style boudoir, just like this one in a spacious Alibaug bungalow designed by Mumbai based firm Malik Architecture, is the perfect excuse to become a recluse.
High vaulted slatted ceiling covered with Mangalore tiles, timber bed and stone floors are all that it takes to create a simple, clean and comfortable bedroom. The flowing indoors and outdoors add another dimension to the bedroom. A single glass wall serves the same purpose.
Populate the room with neutral accessories for a muted look. Aim for shades of white or wood accents only. Use the vast floor space to experiment – pick nude coloured natural stone, black kadappa or kota. Natural lighting eliminates the need for excessive fixtures. Choose a statement lighting fixture enough to bathe the room in soft light at night.
Antique wooden trunks, used as side tables, would add class to the overall simplified look. Also read: 5 tables for breakfast in bed
