“I am constantly surrounded by concrete walls and flooring in my factory. In fact, I strangely find it a poetic material to work with. But since leather is my forte medium, I considered replicating concrete look on it,” reveals Bobby Aggarwal. This is how the idea for PortsideCafe’s latest Cement collection stemmed from.
The consoles, tables and desks from the collection employ leather with a cement look to take beautiful forms, which are further accented with brass plates, wood and leather. Offerings like Coffee Table, Bunching Round Coffee Table set, Console and Desk are sure to find a place of pride in your living room or home office.
Not just limited to tables, the range also comprises gorgeous shelves, a bar on wheels, chairs, accessories like boxes with molten brass fittings, photo frames and leather ceramic bottles that resemble pottery and table lamps.
The series that took about three months to completion was launched at India’s most definitive design week, India Design ID 2017. We love how the pieces are inspired by modern architectural marvels by Le Corbusier and Frank Loyd Wright.
