On the heels of its fifteenth-year anniversary, Falguni Shane Peacock (FSP) has unveiled its new space in Kala Ghoda. Known for a design sensibility that merges detailed western cuts with Indian embellishments, the world-renowned fashion designers had their heart set on having their own store in Mumbai. “After searching for the right place for about three years, we stumbled upon this space in Kala Ghoda—it was love at first sight. We knew we could bring our vision to life, with a design destination that mirrors our label’s aesthetics,” said Falguni Peacock.

The 6,000 sq ft heritage structure has been transformed by Gauri Khan into an elegant store effused with chic glamour. A statement antique chandelier, customised decor in hues of powder pink with speckles of gold and opulently styled nooks characterise the space. Brass peacock motifs and the FSP logo are seen throughout, right from the door to the back of the store.

The palette, predominantly composed of earthy tones in beige and ivory, gives it a classic yet modern aesthetic that matches Gauri Khan’s design sensibility. “It was important for me to make the space functional and not imposing so that it would act as the perfect backdrop to the product, enhancing and offsetting it in the best way possible. I love how the store has achieved just this,” says the interior designer.

The custom flooring from luxury marble brand Arnaya is the cherry on the icing. Pink marble from Portugal, black marble from Italy, and white marble from India were used to craft the stunning interiors. Arnaya’s bespoke flooring design and Khan’s vision for Falguni Shane Peacock were realised by Mumbai based architects Komal and Amit Malwade. All the individual elements come together in an magnificent medley of minimalism, sophistication and glamour in a contemporary setting.
