OCT 30, 2019 | By Vedika Nair
This year, the festival of lights brought with it a number of bespoke products to adorn our homes. Here’s a low-down on brands that made our Diwali #Lit.
The Decor Kart
The Decor Kart brightened up our homes with their range of scented candles and metallic lamps that radiate a warm glow, creating a calm atmosphere amid the festivities.
House This
Timing its launch for Diwali, House This presented its Diwali collection ‘Sikandra – festivities of a kingdom forgotten.’ The brand took inspiration from the emperor Sikandar Lodi, and his love for culture, music and art, with products that featured intricate detailing, red-ochre and gold tones, and hints of Lodi’s blueprint.
Heimars
Gatsby’s Galore, a decorative home linen collection by Heimars, is a graphical ode to the Flapper style era. Crafted especially for bold and brazen aesthetics, this series is inspired by art deco design, geometric abundance, the luxury of gold and glamour, and a hint of royalty. The products include illustrations of the queen of hearts and the king of spades with touches of velvet and glitz.
Jaipur Rugs
With a wide offering—from classic to modern to transitional, hand knotted, hand tufted, handloom and flatweaves—Jaipur Rugs added a touch of handcrafted opulence to homes with exquisite rugs in a range of colours, designs and materials. The Wunderkammer collection by Matteo Cibic paid homage to the Pink City, which added the perfect touch to festive joviality.
J&Y Fabrics
J&Y Fabrics kept their decor simple yet effective with soft furnishings that featured floral designs, tufted couches, dual texture pouffes and patterns that create an elegant space for the festive season.Parrot and Lily
The Unfurling collection by Parrot and Lily took cues from the mirthful motif of the ribbon and showcased light hearted elegance. This ethereal collection is ideal for a softer, less ostentatious palette.
Simone
Simone curated an exciting new range of home decor that highlighted tones of the festival—blues, greens and metallics against a calming white backdrop. Midnight blue and green blend with pearly whites and metallic accents to create a captivating setting. Each of the ornamental artefacts add a regal touch to living and dining spaces.
Abaca
Abaca created a rustic vibe for the outdoors with its charcoal muted tableware and caged candle holders that sat in perfect contrast with the wine-red table.
