Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon is known for upending expectations and his new collection of tableware for Vista Alegre is a treat for the table. Titled Folkifunki, the series for the renowned porcelain company explores the boundaries between Portuguese folk culture and the designer’s own imaginative world.
This collection of tableware and decorative objects traces Jaime’s eye for detail with watercolour style motifs evoking animals, plants, masks and even people. We are mesmerised with how the pieces bring fantasy inspired tradition but with modern retelling through this innovative range. The cake dish with beautiful doodles, teapot and plate with a cock motif are some of our favourites from the line, perfect to add extra flavour.
