DOWNTOWN DESIGN 2019: Where unparalleled creativity meets unique opportunity

OCT 21, 2019 | By Aman Mehta

The Middle East’s leading design fair for high-quality and original design is back with a line-up of international brands, exclusive showcases and industry thought leaders.A key event of Dubai Design Week, Downtown Design returns for its seventh edition, championing the growth of the region’s design industry from 12-15 November 2019. With a diverse selection of globally recognised brands, dynamic spaces where design flourishes and a number of breathtaking installations interspersed across the fair, the 2019 edition of the Middle East’s leading design trade show promises to be better than ever. Whether it is Preciosa’s large-scale interactive installation ‘Carousel of Light’, technology artist Anthony James’ dynamic glass and LED sculpture ‘Icosahedron’ or even LWK+Partners’ interactive space that reflects both the heritage and modernity of the studio’s home base in China, the showcase will feature a plethora of bespoke creations that reflect the aesthetic of the venue itself—a state-of-the-art structure created in association with Dubai Design District, overlooking the d3 waterfront . For creative, commercial and strategic insights into the design industry, one must attend The Forum at Downtown Design 2019, which will feature the likes of Lina Ghotmeh, Ashiesh Shah, Marcus Fairs and Allesandro Minotti, among others. The fair’s acclaimed Trade Programme, featuring a series of networking events and privileges that are designed to facilitate opportunities for architects and interior designers to connect with peers, brands and industry influencers, will continue to address the needs of the increasingly competitive industry. The iconic country pavilions have been expanded to include France, who will be presenting brands that produce luxury furniture and accessories, and Spain, who will showcase brands that spotlight the manufacturing strengths of the country. Can’t get enough? Don’t worry, there’s more. Pedrali, Moser, Skram and Vicalvi are some of the brands making their debut at the show, while Atelier Swarovski will return to present a collaboration with Spanish designer Tomas Alonso. Regional design firms Wilson Associates, Swiss Bureau and XBD Collective will bring sophisticated creative elements to the fair’s public areas, including the bar and the café, while Downtown Editions will continue to spotlight new regional initiatives, young designers and up-and-coming brands.Scroll through some of the featured projects above. To learn more about all the exhilarating experiences in store at Downtown Design 2019 click here: https://www.downtowndesign.com/ Register to attend here: https://registration.n200.com/survey/37svzvzxl19sd?actioncode=NTWO000460CLD
