All About Living’s new space in Ahmedabad has sloping roofs and a glass facade, which lend a homely feel as well as a corporate touch—a perfect juxtaposition for a furniture and lifestyle store. However, with its inconspicuous exterior and neon sign, it has an air of mystery. The interior is open and fluid with no solid walls to create stark divisions.

Contrasting colours and textures have been put together to engage all senses by Dhaval Patel of DPA Design Studio, who has created an environment that draws in shoppers and compels them to stay. The 25,000 sq ft, open plan warehouse proves to be the ideal layout. Patel has crafted a raw look with accents made of exposed concrete, raw wood, mild steel, and metal partitions set against concrete textured walls. Paintings add character to the space, while potted plants lend zesty freshness.

Placed against a neutral backdrop, the furniture and accent pieces “come alive”, feels Patel. “The subtle partitions, exposed ceiling, and background music are the three key features of this space, working together to create the kind of ambience that pulls you in,” he explains. The raw palette and modernist design of the showroom work in tandem to fashion the perfect backdrop for the brand’s products.
