#EDWOWFind: Fabrics that glow in the dark!

by Tasneem Merchant Sep 14, 2015

Who needs a fire hazard like candles for a romantic dinner? Ditch the wax and drape this self-lighting fabric across your table instead…you’re all set for the evening. Italian company Samsara went the whole nine yards to bring DreamLux to life.

They have combined a rather simple idea with sophisticated technology – classic yarns are sewn together with optical fibres. By grouping the optics towards the surface and inserting LEDs, the textile has the ability to light up on demand. To retain the pleasure of touching quality fabric while imparting additional value, DreamLux’s external fabric is pure linen.

Available as bedspreads, tablemats and runners, cushions, headboards, wall panels and more in a plethora of hues.
