Jo Malone London opens its first brick and mortar store in India

by Nishita Fiji Aug 03, 2017 Have you ever caught a whiff of something that took you right back to an old memory you thought you had lost? That’s the kind of magic scents possess. Now imagine the chemistry that goes into concocting these mists of nostalgia. Well, Jo Malone London is an expert at it and has finally made its way to India with a boutique in Palladium mall, Mumbai.

The label’s Lifestyle Director Debbie Wilde explains that the move was a strategic one. “The brand’s key pillars resonate well with Indian consumers,” she states. “Fragrance combining with bespoke scents offer a diversity of notes, mirroring India’s cultural diversity.”

The British brand is famous for masterfully combining the simplest notes in unique pairings like Wood Sage & Sea Salt and English Pear & Freesia. Intrigued yet? The most refreshing part is that it makes no big show of its products that include candles, diffusers, colognes as well as bath and body products. Each of these is presented in regal cream and black boxes, topped with a classic ebony grosgrain ribbon.

The company’s headquarters in Gloucester Place, London, aptly titled “Townhouse”, is a quintessentially British home envisioned by local designer Rose Uniacke. Describing the Georgian structure Debbie remarked, “It interprets British heritage and our style in a very modern way. Just one glance at it and you know it’s us.”

Where: Level 1, Palladium, High Street Phoenix mall,
SB Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai 13.
