Spooky Supper: How to ace a romantic Halloween themed dinner table
There’s an eerie feeling in the air. Chills are running down your spine, your palms are sweaty and you’re scared witless. It’s Halloween and you really have no costume or gimmicks. Your partner will be home soon, expecting a pleasant surprise….
Don’t stress – keep it simple instead. Follow our handy tips, play Michael Jackson’s Thriller in the background and set a really subtle Halloween inspired table for a lovely (and not too horrifying) dinner for two.
1. Let’s Branch Out: Walls too empty? Dainty fairy lights intertwined with thin, dry branches picked out from your backyard and bent into a heart shape, make a romantic wall display.
2. Wrap It Up: Drape floral foam in lace and insert three candles at equidistance. Place this in a transparent container and surround it with twigs to fashion a rustic candle holder.
3. Shimmer On: To keep the mood cosy and warm, assemble votives with coloured water in regular tumblers, few dried sticks (you can try cinnamon too) and floating tea lights.
4. Colour Scheme: With furniture and tableware, stick to subtle colours that don't necessarily scream Halloween but it's close enough – red, white and black should be perfect.
