Royal Feast: Set a gold and white tablescape this Diwali

by Tasneem Merchant Nov 09, 2015

Time to wine and dine and spread cheer all around. This Diwali, spread out a stately meal with glamorous accessories which, while opulent, are not over-the-top. Achieve quiet sophistication by striking the perfect balance between understated white and glitzy gold.

Bring out your cherished china and gilded cutlery for this spread. Keep things fresh with tableware in materials ranging from ceramic and brass to copper and glass.

Filigree placemats serve as the perfect background for spotless ivory plates. Replace the usual centrepiece vases with heirloom ladles featuring intricately carved details. Use a glimmering fabric as the table cloth, punctuated with a snow hued table runner and napkins.
