Diesel’s CEO is really good at sitting

Diesel’s founder, Renzo Rosso looked to the internet when the brand needed a new CEO. “Our CEO has left, leaving an empty space in our hearts, but most importantly, an empty chair,” he said. Naturally, the job description for the Chair Executive Officer focused on extraordinary sitting talent.

The brand’s social media pages were flooded with sitters of all kinds – from chairs and couches to floors, and they finally picked Daan Vervoot, a contemporary dancer from Belgium. For a week, Daan took on the role of CEO at the Diesel Headquarters in Italy, and showed off his undisputable sitting skills while being cheered on by the staff and Renzo himself.

It definitely was a call for couch potatoes around the world: “Being good at sitting may not get you everywhere in life. But it can get you pretty, pretty far,” says Daan. And we believe you, Daan.
