EDIDA Designer of the Year
KUNAAL KYHAAN SEOLEKAR

Just two years after winning the EDIDA India Young Talent 2017, Kunaal took home the most coveted award for his 2019 designs. The soon to be unveiled Terracotta and tentatively named Galaxy collections amalgamate contemporary and cultural features in keeping with his aesthetic. While the inspiration behind his ventures— studio HAUS and KOY is Japanese culture, the designer adds warm tones and earthy textures to pieces in order to make them one of a kind and appealing to a wider audience.

FARAH AHMED MATHIAS & DHAVAL SHELLUGAR

The first to be awarded in this category, Farah and Dhaval of FADD Studio strive to keep their designs fresh and unconventional. Their motto is quite simple—to do everything and say ‘no’ to nothing. Their Bengaluru based studio is well known for deciphering past and present trends in quirky yet practical ways through
a variety of projects, ranging from residential to commercial.

With his design studio Mianzi, Shashank takes sustainable living and decor a notch higher. He uses bamboo to design sturdy everyday objects such as the Butterfly chair, Mushroom lamp and Lotus stool. He aims to provide employment to local artisans and create a plethora of eco friendly products.

RADHIKA DHUMAL

Currently pursuing her Masters degree from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, Radhika drew inspiration from nature for
the Elytra Coffee Table. The structure of the interactive table resembles the movement of a beetle’s wings.
